Introduction

A guidebook, not a shopfront

We do not sell tickets and we take no commission on your travel. That independence is the entire point: it lets us describe airline rules exactly as they are written, including the parts carriers would rather you skimmed.

  • Independent

No airline ownership, no affiliate pressure on editorial decisions.

  • Sourced

Every rule traces back to a published carrier or regulator document.

  • Structured

Twelve chapters, consistent format, designed to be scanned quickly.

  • Human

Written and reviewed by specialists who have handled real itineraries.

Popular airline rules

The six rules we explain most often

Short answers here; the full reasoning, exceptions and carrier differences live in the Airline Rulebook chapter.

  • 24-hour cancellation window

Where it applies, how the clock is measured and which tickets are excluded.

  • Name correction limits

Most carriers allow up to three characters; transfers to another person remain prohibited.

  • Carry-on sizing

Published dimensions include wheels and handles on nearly every carrier.

  • Check-in cut-off

Typically 45–60 minutes domestic and 60–90 minutes international.

  • Infant lap travel

Generally permitted under 24 months with a documented date of birth.

  • Schedule change threshold

Many carriers treat a shift beyond 2–4 hours as a refundable event.

Travel tips

Small habits, fewer problems

  • Screenshot everything

Boarding passes, hotel confirmations and visa approvals fail offline more often than you expect.

  • Book the earlier flight

Morning departures accumulate less delay and leave room for one recovery option.

  • Weigh at home

A luggage scale costs less than a single excess-baggage fee at the counter.

  • Know your ticket type

Two minutes reading the fare rules prevents most change and refund surprises.

FAQ

Questions we answer every week

A short preview. The full FAQ covers editorial process, support scope and how we handle corrections.

Does AirSupportTeam sell flight tickets?
No. AirSupportTeam is an independent aviation knowledge center. We publish guides and reference material about airline rules, bookings and travel planning. We do not sell, issue or manage tickets, and we are not a travel agency or a carrier.
How current is the information on this site?
Every guide carries a review date. Rule-sensitive pages — baggage, documents, compensation — are re-checked against primary carrier and regulator sources on a rolling quarterly schedule, and immediately when a major policy change is announced.
Can you contact an airline on my behalf?
We do not act as your representative with a carrier. What we can do is explain which policy applies to your situation, what wording matters and which channel is most likely to resolve it, so your own message lands correctly the first time.
Where does your information come from?
Published conditions of carriage, airline tariff filings, civil aviation authority publications, airport operator documentation and international conventions. Our editorial policy sets out how sources are verified and cited.

Human support

Still not sure which rule applies to you?

Describe the situation and a specialist will point you to the exact policy, the wording that matters and the channel most likely to resolve it. Guidance only — we never act as your agent.
