How we decide what to publish

Everything on this site is written to a documented standard. This page explains that standard so you can judge the guidance rather than simply trust it.

Printed pages and editing notes spread across a desk

Process

Six steps from question to published page

  1. 01

    Scope

Define the question a page must answer and the jurisdictions it applies to.

  2. 02

    Source

Collect primary documents: carriage conditions, tariffs, regulator notices, operator publications.

  3. 03

    Draft

Write in plain language, stating limits and exceptions rather than smoothing them over.

  4. 04

    Review

A second specialist checks each factual claim against the cited source.

  5. 05

    Publish

Page goes live with a review date and a named accountable role.

  6. 06

    Re-check

Rule-sensitive pages are revisited quarterly and immediately on major policy change.
